Dalwood Primary School Parents, Teachers and Friends Association

The Parent, Teacher and Friends Association of Dalwood Primary School is a warm and friendly organisation run completely by volunteers. All parents and guardians of pupils in the school are automatically members of the PTFA. It is a registered charity, has an elected committee and holds regular meetings throughout the year.

The PTFA runs a programme of events and activities each term to provide additional funds for the school. These funds are used to purchase "extra" equipment, activities and experiences with the aim that they enrich the children's opportunities and make the school environment at Dalwood more stimulating for each pupil.

Examples of items funded by the PTFA are: helping towards the costs of school trips, residential holidays for Key Stage 2 children, entertainments, swimming lessons, weekly French lessons, fresh drinking water.

All PTFA events are always well supported and a lot of fun for all involved. Some events have become regular Village fixtures such as the annual Duck Race along the River Corry, the Halloween Punky Lantern procession through the village and the Maypole dancing at the May Fair. Other events that are planned throughout the year are Jumble Sales, Cheese and Wine, Bingo and Pamper Evenings. The PTFA are always keen to try something new so any ideas would be very welcome.
